A sleeve is a cylindrical device that is used to reduce friction and wear when sliding one part of a machine or mechanism inside another. It is installed in the opening of a larger part to create a movable element that can rotate or slide.
Alloy Metal offers several types of sleeves:
- Copper sleeve – it is made of copper and has good thermal and electrical conductivity. It is often used in electrical machines and other devices where low resistance to electrical current is required.
- Bronze bushing – has high strength, stiffness and wear resistance, making it an ideal material for high load and wear applications.
- Brass bush – has high strength and wear resistance, as well as good corrosion resistance. It is often used in applications that work in conditions of high humidity or in contact with various liquids.
